Babies born with clefts are treated FREE OF COST at two centres, Saishree Hospital, Aundh and the other is Vishwaraj Hospital, Loni. These centres are run by the DCKH ( German Childrens Cleft Foundation )
The protocol followed is as follows
- Cleft Lip Repair - 4 months age/ 5kg weight of baby
- Cleft Palate repair - 10-15 months of age
- Speech therapy
- Dental Review
- Orthodontic Consultation 7-8 years of age
- Secondary Alveolar Cleft Grafting 8-11 years of age
- Orthodontic Treatment
- Distraction Osteogenesis 12-15 years if required
- Orthognathic Surgery 18-25 years
- Rhinoplasty and Lip Revision 18-25 years
