The habit of chewing Gutkha/ Pan Supari leads to inability to open the mouth and burning sensation on intake of spicy foods. Such patients are successfully treated by release of Submucous Fibrosis along with Coronoidectomy. The raw areas inside the mouth are lined by the nasolabial skin flap which not only prevents fibrosis but also reduces the burning sensation of the patient. Post-operative physiotherapy plays a crucial role in the success of such patients.
